Channels - Stories from the Niagara Frontier is a new program which matches documentary filmmakers with grass roots initiatives and groups to collaboratively create documentary films. Participating groups are Circle of Friends, a peer group of students with and without disability, Picturing Poetry, a joint education program by Just Buffalo Literary Center and CEPA, Prisoners Are People Too!, a group that works to enhance the community's awareness of prison and criminal justice issues, Five Corners, a case study in grassroots neighborhood revitalization on Buffalo's West Side, and Growing Green, a project of the Massachusetts Avenue Project with the mission to nurture the growth of a diverse and equitable community food system. Participating filmmakers are E. Seth Wochensky (Circle of Friends), Jon Hand, Douglas Ruffin, Jam Vafai and Meg Knowles.
